FAQs
We have 10 organizations active on campus! Our organizations are Asian and LatinX interest but not exclusive organizations. We have 5 fraternities and 5 sororities.
Each organization has different recruitment processes each semester. You can find specifics on the different processes through an organization's Instagram!
Recruitment is free for anyone to participate in!
There is no official dress code for recruitment, it is up to each individual organization.
Recruitment is a non-binding process all interested members must go through in order to be considered for the organization. Each individual organization will conduct their own recruitment process and have their own requirements. This process is also known as rushing a sorority or fraternity.
None of our organizations have University Sanctioned Housing on Campus.
Each organization will conduct their own recruitment. As a council we do not conduct any joint recruitment events, we will host a block party at the beginning of the fall semester to gather all our organizations however the council doesn't control any form of recruitment. Typically the organizations will have 2-3 weeks of recruitment events and interviews at the end.
This council oversees 10 organizations which means we are smaller than other councils on campus. MGC is made up out of culturally based sororities and fraternities and focuses on community. We are a close council as most of our organizations are small too.
MGC offers a great network, leadership opportunities, professional development and life long friendships!
There is a process that one needs to go through. There will be a presentation portion and then the delegates will vote on if this organization can continue the process of joining MGC. To learn more, please go to the reactivation/charter section!
